Jeff and I are dieting. Ugh...just the word dieting makes me cringe. I'm not a good dieter cuz I like cookies. :-) We've been trying to do the Jillian Michaels Shred video. Half way through, it starts to look like a competition of who is going to die first...Jeff huffing and puffing and me on the verge of puking. We might be a little out of shape. HA! And then there's Nathan, who stands there watching us, pointing out every little thing we're doing wrong. It's quite the 3-ring circus! We're planning a little getaway in April to Gulf Shores, Alabama and I'm so excited about it! I know we're not going to get all in shape in a month, but any little bit will help, right?
I made a decision to take June and July off work this year. I'm really happy about it! My boss, on the other hand, probably wasn't, although she was very understanding about it when I told her. There are two girls in my department going on maternity leave in June. Not the best time for me to take off, but I really wanted to be home with the kids this summer. Plus, Ethan gets his driver's license at the beginning of March which means he probably won't be home as much to help me babysit. How can my baby be old enough to drive?
In fishy news, Nathan now has an empty tank in his room. I'm sad to report that all of our fishy friends have gone to be with Jesus. I've been doing lots of reading about fish, so I think I'll be even more prepared our next go-round. There's a whole process of "cycling your tank" that I didn't know enough about before, and apparently the best fish to cycle a tank with are platies. A friend of mine has a bunch of platies in her tank because hers keep having babies, so I'm going to get some from her when I'm ready. For now, we're glaring at a whole lota nothin.
Jeff and I went to the movies recently and saw the best, creepiest movie. It's called The Woman In Black. Even the movie poster is totally creepers!
It's rated PG-13, but does an amazing job at being completely scary without being nasty. I loved the setting of the movie. It takes place in a spooky Victorian-era town. Jeff thought I was nuts because I just loved the mansion that the movie takes place in. So creepy-cool! I usually won't watch scary movies, but I highly recommend this one. It's scary, but so good!
We got some big news around here this weekend. My dad has informed us that he and his girlfriend, Mary, are engaged. We all really like Mary. Seriously, if I could've hand picked someone for my dad, she's who I would choose. They are a perfect fit and we are very happy for them!
Here's some pics of Kennedy and I last weekend. We went to a princess birthday party for one of her friends from preschool. It was at their church and all the girls were to dress up as princesses. Cute!
The princesses...
Nathan had a school music program with an art show before-hand. Here he is with his art project.
Kennedy had a good day today. She and her American Girl Doll got matching leotards for ballet class. :-) I've gotten the biggest kick out of watching her play tonight. She's been pretending that she's the ballet teacher and her dolls are the students. So precious!
And guess who got brave and got her ears pierced?!!!!
My girl did!!!!
We met up with my friend's twin daughters so they could get their ears pierced together. Peer pressure can be a good thing! HA!! Here they all are with their earrings in!
Last week, I took Kennedy to a new family doctor. Kennedy has had a heart murmur since birth. Her old doctor never had any tests done to make sure everything was ok, which always bugged me. The new doctor wants her to have an echo done to see why she has the murmur, so they scheduled it for this Friday. Please say a little prayer for her that everything is ok. Makes me so nervous!
Whew!...That was a lot! Is anyone still reading? Anyone? Hello? Hello?
Have a lovely rest of the week!!!

I've missed your blog! It likes you've been up to alot of fun. Good luck at K's apt, Ry had a mummur when he was born and luckily the echo showed us that it had closed. She'll do great and I just hope for some even better news! :)
Welcome back!! and yes I will say a prayer for Kennedy!!
I keep checking and *yay* a new post! Glad everyone is doing well. I'll be praying for Kennedy. I'm wondering why those other two girls look so miserable with their new pierced ears???
Good luck with the getting in shape thing. Jillian rocks. Tough but effective.
Jenn, that's so funny you'd say that. The twins are painfully shy. You never hear them speak and I think they were a little uneasy about me taking their picture. I think they'll grow out of it, though. Their mom said she was that shy when she was little, too. :-)
I hope Kennedy's echo went well? Let us know :)
And I'm so happy for an update, it has been awhile- I'm glad your familia started harping on ya for a new post, haha! I love that. We had the same thing happen to our fish. All but one got the big flush flush flush- day after day. Finally our tank got "cycled" and they're living long!!
I bet you're relieved to have a couple months off AND you get to go on a fun trip in April?? Dang girl, you have a lot to look forward to! You deserve it-
I've missed you and think of you a lot! John is going to Indianapolis in a couple weeks and wanted me to go. He'll be busy working and I thought "hmmm, I wonder how far Jill is from there"??
keep up the great, fun updates, i love them!
